Our Mission
Advocating for persons with disabilities, supporting them in realizing
self-determined and healthy lives, educating families and promoting inclusive communities.
Vision of Inclusion Connection
Helping communities embrace the differences of all people by inspiring acceptance and accessibility.
Inclusion happens, regardless of ability, when everyone can:
* Learn together
* Establish meaningful friendships with typical peers
* Choose where they live
* Control their own healthcare needs and providers
* Work at a job that uses their talents and pays a realistic wage
* Unite together to help their community through volunteering
The Inclusion Connection was organized in 2004
The initial concept for the Inclusion Connection was suggested by
Waverly-Shell Rock high school students taking a class for credit entitled “Dynamics of Inclusion.”
A grant from the Iowa Governors DD Council made creating the Inclusion Connection possible.
Today, the Inclusion Connection is governed by a board representing community leader of diverse ability, who passionately support the current mission and vision.
