Awareness and Inclusion Training Sessions
* Provide a forum for exploring deeply held stereotypes and historical stigma experienced by people with developmental disabilities
* Are designed to be collaborative and open
* Provide a safe learning environment where participants can ask questions and discover their own ability to find the answers to common questions and concerns about interacting and communicating with members of the community who may happen to have a disability
* Encourage an exchange of ideas and strategies on how to be more inclusive, aware, and assume competence when interacting and communicating
Informational sessions are provided on-site at your organization, business or school and can be general in nature and/or tailored according to your specific needs.
Session facilitators may include a community member who happens to have a disability, volunteers and consultant/s knowledgeable in your needs. All sessions are coordinated by the Inclusion Connection Consultant.
Cost of an Awareness and Inclusion Training Session is dependent on your needs, specific consultant and length of session. We look forward to hearing from you. Please contact us!
"The presentation by Kayleen, Susie and Nathan (Inclusion Connection representatives) was a very powerful one for my students. It was informative but more importantly it was 'real'. Kayleen and Susie work with individuals with disabilities every day and Nathan gave us insight into his life of living with a disability in a world that views him as 'different'."
- Ann Arns, Wartburg College Adaptive PE Instructor
It is not because things are difficult that we do not dare; it is because we do not dare that they are difficult.
